Conor Coughlan - debut album and single

Give It Up is the debut album release from 19 year old British
singer-songwriter Conor Coughlan, due for release on October 9th 2015, through Homewood Music Collective, via Proper distribution. The single, ‘Sun Don’t Shine’ is available now.

His father, an avid music fan, brought Conor up on a steady diet
of all the greats – Neil Young, The Rolling Stones, Bruce
Springsteen; leading him to pick up the guitar and begin writing
his own songs at the age of just 9.

Conor’s debut reflects his musical upbringing, effortlessly weaving Soul, Americana and Soft Rock, with irresistibly catchy pop compositions.

Born in Essex, before moving to the small town of Saskatoon in
Canada (the home of Joni Mitchell) for six years; 19 year old
Conor has a story to tell and a sound of his own. In late 2008 the Coughlan family emigrated to Canada; it was there that Conor’s musical journey really began. At the age of 14 Conor formed a band, where they performed in the local bars in his city and caught the attention of a US manager Ricky Williamson.

Conor toured the US playing in some of the best venues on the West Coast: Hotel Café (where he opened up for Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October), Lestat’s, Kulak’s Woodshed where he graced the same stage as Jackson Browne, to name a few. It was early 2014 when Conor stumbled upon the famous Berkeley studio in California, Fantasy Studios, where he decided to record the album. After meeting Conor and hearing a few songs, studio manager Jeffrey Wood proposed he produce it. Coughlan grabbed the opportunity with open arms and by November 2014 was recording his debut album at the age of 18. Conor also caught the attention of Oscar-nominated American filmmaker Jason Cohen, who is currently filming a documentary on Conor and his road to success.

Give It Up is an impressive debut album, full of memorable melodies, immaculate acoustic guitar playing and insightful, honest lyrics.
