Emily Barker announces fourth studio album ‘Dear River’

Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo are set to take to the road on their biggest ever UK tour including Shepherds Bush Empire in October and November 2013. This latest tour will give fans a chance to hear new material from their much-anticipated fourth studio album, Dear River, which is released on the 8th July 2013 on Linn Records and will include support from Chris T-T.

Emily Barker is a compelling singer-songwriter and mesmerising live artist, who with her band The Red Clay Halo blends classical, rock, country and folk influences to stunning effect. Emily’s solo appearance in the 2012 Revival tour alongside the likes of Chuck Ragan, Jay Malinowski and a performance with Frank Turner at the London 2012 Olympics in front of a global televised audience, Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo are set to wow a whole new live audience this autumn.

After three self-released albums, Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo are now releasing their fourth album on one of the world’s leading ‘audiophile’ labels, Linn Records.  Produced by Calum Malcolm, the Dear River album marks a significant sonic move forward from the previous three albums, highlighting Emily’s agile vocal blend of strength and fragility, while lyrically exploring the meaning of home and its related tangents of exile, displacement, and family.

Having become known to a whole new audience when two of her songs, Nostalgia and Pause, became the Bafta and Ivor Novello award-winning themes, the Dear River album is a major landmark that will surely take Emily to a whole new level.
