The Wind Will Change Again is the fourth release by the Twangtown Paramours (Mike T Lewis and MaryBeth Zamer) and is their first Folk album in twelve years. At its heart, the album is about resilience in the face of loss, about the realization that our time is finite, and about renewed appreciation of the people we love who are gone and of those who are still with us. In their own lives, The Twangtown Paramours relied on their songwriting to help get them through difficult times with gratitude and humour.
The album begins with ‘Sincerely Yours No More’, a musically upbeat, but lyrically serious song about promises made and promises that need to be broken. Subsequent songs move from heartfelt themes such the appreciation of the seasons of life in ‘The Garden’ to witty observations about the true nature of human motivation in ‘Showin’ Off for Their Girlfriends’ Included are a sensitive female rendition of the classic ‘Tonight I Think I’m Gonna Go Downtown’. and the final title track, ‘The Wind Will Change Again’. which is about much more than dangerous weather.
The Wind Will Change Again was produced by Mike T. Lewis. Eleven of the thirteen tracks are purely acoustic. Two are electric and eclectic. This Soulful Folk record features some of the finest musicians in Nashville and New York – Jim VanCleve, Rick Lonow, Ed Alstrom, Rave Tesar, and Jeff Taylor. The album includes co-writes with Fred Koller and with the late Paul Craft. And it showcases covers by Adam Schlesinger and their friend and mentor, Jimmie Dale Gilmore.
The Twangtown Paramours are a U.S. touring, award-winning husband and wife duo based in Nashville. They are three- time Kerrville New Folk finalists and the winner of Texas’s Wildflower Songwriting Contest. Their last folk album and last two singles all went to #2 on the FAI Folk charts. MaryBeth Zamer used to sing background vocals for the late Eva Cassidy. Mike Lewis is a professional guitar player, bass player, songwriter, and producer. He sometimes plays upright bass for Jimmie Dale Gilmore. His songs have been recorded by artists in the U.S., U.K., Japan, and Korea, where he had a #1 hit that has sold over a million copies. The duo is very much looking forward to their first tour in the UK, which takes place April 30-May 17.
