First ChargeFirst Charge Of The Light Brigade

Release Date: 1 September 2014

First Charge Of The Light Brigade’s self-titled debut album is predominantly the work of Yorick Cormack, the main songwriter of former Glasgow alt country band Endrick Brothers. With a sound that rests comfortably amongst many contemporary favourites such as Teenage Fanclub, Wilco and Trashcan Sinatras, it also evokes memories of past luminaries such as Big Star and The Byrds. The album is due for release on September 1st 2014 on the band’s own label, Aquitaine Recordings.

First Charge Of The Light Brigade was produced by Chris Gordon (Union of Knives, Song of Return) and recorded under a mezzanine bed in his south side Glasgow flat. The album includes guest performances from Donny Little (Paolo Nutini) on guitar and Glasgow singer songwriter Roddy Hart on backing vocals.

Formed in 2011, the band has opened for The Doves, The Jayhawks and Jesse Malin to name but a few, and has also recently completed a six month residency at Bar Brel in Glasgow’s west end as well as gaining airplay and support from BBC Radio Scotland. Band members are Yorick Cormack, John Carson, Paul Reza and Gordy Turner.
