Brand new accordion and percussion duo from Newcastle, Amy Thatcher and Francesca Knowles defy the preconceptions of what their instruments can do, breaking with tradition while tactfully adopting it as a foundation for playful experimentation. Their live show is one of both raucous energy and sympathetic intensity, incorporating drums, synths, keys and vocals into an unapologetic brew of colourful and creative composition. Their debut album Emergency Of The Female Kind showcases a spectrum of humanity rarely captured in just 46 minutes and the pair’s undaunted attitude to kicking off a genre revolution.

Her 20 plus years’ experience as a performer and composer in folk and traditional music has taken her to stages across the UK and beyond with the likes of Kathryn Tickell and The Darkening, The Shee, Monster Ceilidh Band, We Are The Monsters, Sting and Royal Northern Sinfonia.
