Information Camouflage, the latest release from 3 Daft Monkeys, is a rich, life-affirming tapestry that masterfully blends world folk inspirations with wild punk-infused energy and modern storytelling
This is not just an album but an experience—a kaleidoscopic journey through sound and emotion that celebrates life, love, and the resilient human spirit. It’s a testament to 3 Daft Monkeys’ dedication to their craft and their unwavering connection with their fans, offering a soundtrack that invites you to dance, reflect, and revel in the magic of music.
Information Camouflage is a playful journey through diverse emotional landscapes. The bittersweet title track intriguingly questions “What is real, what is not, and who is playing the game?”. It shifts from the politically charged ‘Message to Authority,’ with its powerful lyrics and resonant bass-line, to the hauntingly mysterious ‘Fiji Mermaid’. ‘Roses’, a proven crowd pleaser, stands out with its catchy ear worm melody and sing-along vibe, while the salty sea shanty ‘Ebb And Flow’ captures the rugged spirit of the wild Cornish coast. Each track offers something distinct, whether it’s the rebellious wild energy of ‘Power To The Peaceful’ or the introspective calm of ‘This Is My Call,’ showcasing the band’s ability to balance light and shade, joy and reflection.
The album is anchored by Athene’s expressive violin work, which weaves intricate melodies that echo the ancient hills of Cornwall, and Tim’s 12-string guitar, which adds depth and texture to every track. Together, they create a sound that is both timeless and refreshingly contemporary. Rich’s dynamic hand percussion infuses the songs with a driving, primal energy, while Jamie’s inventive bass lines provide a solid yet playful foundation, allowing the music to flow with an infectious rhythm. It sounds fresh and new.
3 Daft Monkeys funded this project with a huge independent crowdfunder campaign, showing clearly how loved this band are by their ever-increasing global fan base.
