The organisers of the Gate To Southwell Festival are reporting record sales so far for this year’s event in September (2nd-5th). Following the cancellation of larger gatherings, it’s likely well-organised smaller festivals will prosper in 2021. Over 30 internationally diverse music acts have already been booked for the long-awaited 14th Nottinghamshire event at a new, beautiful rural location in nearby Kirklington including London ska stars Maroon Town, singer-songwriter Reg Meuross (“a true troubadour with a social conscience” – BBC’s Mark Radcliffe), Devonian traditional folk due Harbottle & Jonas and ex-Bellowhead lynchpins Spiers & Boden. They join an eclectic bill of high calibre artists such as The Anxo Lorenzo Band, The Young’uns, The Gigspanner Big Band, The Breath, Imar, Chris Wood, Edgelarks, The Henry Girls, Wizz Jones, Knight & Spiers, Track Dogs and much more.
Although Early Bird tickets are already sold out, discounted Weekend and Day Tickets are available via the website and these will allow access to the main artists on the main stage. As usual there’ll be camping and glamping, great family entertainment, food and craft stalls, a beer and cider festival, Open Mic and other events, plus on-site parking and special bus services to and from nearby Southwell.
