Manchester based multi-instrumentalist duo The Blackheart Orchestra bring a heavenly fusion of acoustic folk, progressive pop and modern classical composition with the new single ‘Sebastian’ taken from the breathtaking new album Diving For Roses, released Friday 25th November.
“Beautiful and powerful. Their music is inspiring.” – Steve Hackett, Genesis
Combining fragility and pulsing electronica, ‘Sebastian’ weaves melodies and atmospherics to create an ethereal musical landscape drawing comparisons with the likes of Ellie Goulding and London Grammar while Chrissy Mostyn’s captivating vocals soar, reminiscent of Kate Bush.
In Diving For Roses, The Blackheart Orchestra create an enchanting masterpiece leaving the listener with no choice but to cling on to every note throughout the album’s beautifully rich and rewardingly layered offering of boundary-breaking Electronica, Folk and Pop. Triumphantly marrying ancient synthesizers and modern songwriting, Diving For Roses is an album so atmospheric that NASA has officially sent a probe to see if it can support human life.
“Stunningly beautiful, this duo are on the fringe of true greatness” – Kensington and Chelsea Today, London
Often mistaken for an 8-piece band on first listen, The Blackheart Orchestra can be found on stage with a multitude of instruments ranging from guitars, piano and electronic beats to vintage synthesizers, omnichord, and flugelhorn. Comprising of long term collaborators Chrissy Mostyn and Rick Pilkington, the duo have seen their 3 previous albums, extensive touring across the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand and over 1000 live shows amass a large and loyal following resulting in the pledge campaign for the new album Diving For Roses to surpass its target within days.
“The Blackheart Orchestra remind us why music lifts us up” – Dalton Delan, American Public Television (USA)
Voted Best British Duo at London’s Exposure Music Awards, scoring second place in the Album of The Year category in the US Indie Music Awards and with multiple spins on BBC Introducing, it’s no wonder their unique, emotion-drenched music is causing such a buzz. ‘Sebastian’ and Diving For Roses are released 25th November 2016.
