Vyktoria – Something about Driving

Vyktoria - Something about DrivingThis live album oozes with confidence and is rich with intriguing time signatures and unearthly vocals.

Track Listing: 1. Voice & the Drum – 2. Spider – 3. Where You End I Begin – 4. Rainbow Black – 5. Yer Dead – 6. 10 Step Stairs – 7. Buffalo – 8. NY 10-11-91 – 9. Do We Entrain?

Most of the tracks are just Vyktoria and her three guitars, which are all used to great effect to cover a variety of open tunings. She is joined on tracks 3 & 4 by Andrew Giddings and Doane Perry and by Ian Anderson on track 9.

If you haven’t guessed already Vyktoria opened for Jethro Tull’s UK & US tours in 1999. “Something about Driving” is a diary of this, filled with quirky humour, interesting arrangements and that haunting ambient vocal.

Vyktoria has been described as Kate Bush, XTC and Nanci Griffith meets “Lost in Space” so don’t expect any degree of conformity.
