Over their twenty year career Megson, aka Debbie & Stu Hanna, have established themselves as one of the most engaging acts on the British Folk scene. Mixing exquisite musicianship and northern humour they use their Teesside heritage to create a unique style of folk music. This style is exemplified perfectly in their live performances where their distinct song writing style – using heartfelt melodies to highlight the poignancy of everyday life – comes to the forefront.
Now, due to popular demand, they have captured this live magic on record. Backed up by long time collaborator John Parker on Double Bass and recorded at much loved Teesside venue Stockton Arc, Megson’s Live On Teesside presents thirteen Megson fan favourites.
The performances move from the soaring harmonies, driving mandolas and leaping double bass of ‘What We Are Trying To Say’ to the delicate story telling of ‘The Longshot’ through to the atmospheric ‘Everynight When The Sun Goes In’. Live On Teesside shows what Megson do best – use folk music & everyday stories to create a special bond with their ever- growing audience.
