Andy White to play one-off London gig

Andy White

After a successful January UK and Irish tour to launch his latest album This Garden Is Only Temporary, itinerant Belfast songwriter Andy White plays a one-off London show at The Wanstead Tap on July 12 at 8pm.

Fresh from the release of his critically acclaimed duo album with Tim Finn, AT, Andy has been revisiting his solo catalogue and will be playing an unexpected selection of songs as well as those that have established him throughout a 38-year career as one of Ireland’s most strident and poetic performers – ‘Religious Persuasion’, ‘James Joyce’s Grave’, ‘Street Scenes From My Heart’.

Perhaps fittingly, he will play on 12th July, and his song was recently covered at the 25th anniversary Dublin concert for the signing of the Good Friday Agreement, ‘Come Down To The Sea’.

Now living in Melbourne, where he has been based since his first hook-up with Tim during the period in which they wrote and recorded Altitude with Liam Ó Maonlaí as ALT, Andy’s July concert is not to be missed. New video from Andy White & Tim Finn is ‘Three Sheep Grazing’. because there’s no need to be four.
