On Saturday 8 March 2025, the English Folk Dance and Song Society will present the first ever Feminist Folk Club Festival at Cecil Sharp House marking International Women’s Day. A powerful celebration of women’s voices in folk music, the groundbreaking event follows in the footsteps of the popular series of Feminist Folk Club nights and brings together some of the most compelling voices in contemporary folk music for a day of music and storytelling.
This special International Women’s Day edition, in partnership with Thank Folk For Feminism, will showcase the diverse and evolving landscape of folk music from both established and emerging young musicians, including Daisy Beau, Jasmine Kennedy and Lucy and Hazel. The festival will also include a rare collaboration between mother and daughter, Sandra and Nancy Kerr, featuring new and old songs and tunes especially for the Feminist Folk Club Festival on International Women’s Day.
