Beans On Toast is Back Out On The Road soon

Beans On Toast

Since 2005, Beans On Toast has written simple songs about complicated subjects. Tackling the big issues of the day but doing so with his feet firmly on the ground, he’s become a people’s champ of the modern folk scene and amassed a huge back catalogue of songs in the process.

An unrepentant optimist whose songs celebrate all that is wonderful about the human spirit, his live shows are similarly uplifting and have taken him from SOLD OUT headline shows in the UK to the stages of major international festivals across the globe.

Releasing the critically acclaimed studio album Survival Of The Friendliest in 2021, the record proved a hit with fans and critics alike, with RNR Magazine championing the record as “rather special…The lyrics shimmer with Beans’ trademark of truth and humour”, whereas Louder Than War hailed it as “the perfect antidote to re-energise us all”.

In December 2022, Beans turned his hand to a new challenge and released his debut children’s book series and accompanying recordings The Fascinating Adventures Of Little Bee (out now). The project earned praise for its “sunny melodies with easy-to-remember lyrics” (The Big Issue) and was hailed as “a really lovely endeavour [that] follows in the footsteps of the likes of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger” (Americana UK).

Telling tales and playing tracks from across his extensive back catalogue, Beans on Toast will be Back Out On The Road for a huge UK tour in 2023. Standby for more new music very soon…

A celebration of everything that makes the touring life and live shows the joyous experience they are, Beans’ new single is a universal heart-warmer destined to be belted out in venues nationwide this Spring. Speaking about the inspiration for the new track, Beans On Toast says:

“’Back Out On The Road’ is a love letter to live music, independent venues and the wonderful people who frequent them. It’s a celebration of England and the joys of travelling this beautiful land.  I’ve been touring non-stop for well over a decade and have thousands of gigs under my belt, but it never gets old. Hopefully, this song will act as a thank you to all the people who come out to see me play, meaning I can continue on my journey. I think it’s important for them to know how much I love doing this.”

An uplifting folk song with gospel flourishes to nourish the soul, it emerges as the first of three brand new singles from Beans set to be unveiled over the coming weeks. The songs are also confirmed to appear on Beans’ next album, which is already slated for 1st December 2023. Hinting how the new album is shaping up, he says:

“Granted, it’s a long way off, but I wanted to draw a line after my last album and my quick turn at being a kids’ entertainer. These songs are back to a more ‘classic Beans’ singing songs about the current state of the world around me and trying to make my opinions rhyme.”

Due to preview the new tunes in live venues stretching across England, Scotland, and Wales, Beans On Toast’s ‘Back Out On The Road Tour’ gets underway on 21st February at Colchester Arts Centre and finishes up at the London’s Lafayette on 25th March.
