One year on… from Fairport’s first shrunken Cropredy festival last year – how’s it all going for 2026 and what can we look forward to?

Our very own Paul Johnson finds out …
Hi all Paul here…So a year has flown by and news from the ‘Fairport camp’ is, all seems well and positive…The boys have just come off a hugely successful virtual sell out new (time shifted) ‘Spring Tour’ as opposed to their usual ‘Winter tour’ for 2026.
All reports and reviews are saying the tour was brilliant, with sparkling performances every night they played. Followed by their appearances in Ibiza at Costa Del Folk, so I guess the chaps are buoyed up and confident by the great success of the smaller Cropredy last year.
So as we arrive in year two of the reduced Cropredy Festival – what can we expect and how are the chaps feeling about life, the universe, their new album ‘Road Works‘ and all things Fairport Convention?
Join me here in my Pre-Cropredy festival podcast to find out more – not just from the chaps, the legends that are the Fairport ‘Dons’ Dave Pegg and Simon Nicol, but also ‘Banters‘ ever busy Simon Care and the wonderfully infectious Gerry Colvin, who are both very excited to be playing this legendary magical festival.
