Philip Murray Warson debuts with EP

Philip Murray Warson is set to release his first EP.

The 25 year-old has worked as a musician and performer in various guises, toured with the National Theatre and trod the boards of the Old Vic, and is now starting to make waves in the ever-growing British Folk scene.

Having been invited to play three dates in New York in 2014, after a chance meeting in a London pub, he began his solo output in earnest in the New Year. He recorded a number of songs at Soup Studio in East London. Last Of The Hunted featured almost instantaneously on BBC Introducing in his native Oxfordshire.

He has subsequently performed at the Borderline and various other London venues, a number of established folk clubs, the Stroud Fringe Festival (alongside the likes of Pete Roe and Emily Barker) and was invited by BBC Arts Editor Will Gompertz to play a live radio session.  He also scored an off-West End play.  He recently supported Treetop Flyers during their UK tour.

Two original tracks will be available via Bandcamp.

‘Last Of The Hunted’ is rooted in the English folk tradition, but also includes some impressive slide guitar that sends the track off into a blues direction, making for a classy, epic arrangement,

Beautiful guitar and vocals draw you into ‘Following Time’ and are then joined by uplifting full-band arrangement, with cello and brass. A unique and engaging take on folk standard ‘Wild Mountain Thyme’ will also be available to stream via Soundcloud.
