Paul Johnson talks to Bluenose B about his new concept album’Minstrel of the waste land’ in this ‘mini pod’

Here I talk to Bluenose B, otherwise known as the great songwriter Stephen Lawson, in a mini podcast about being a musician, playing in bands that you can trace back to the times of the Scouse invasion.. being around in the gritty Liverpool music scene playing alongside indie bands such ‘Echo and the Bunnymen’ and ‘The Teardrop Explodes’

But recently his musical journey has taken him deeper in to the indie folk genre – here we talk about his new concept album called ‘Minstrel of the Wasteland’ which offers a dark but hopeful look into the near future where music is outlawed and musicians are punished for spreading messages of love and hope…….

We had such a in depth and interesting chat, that I wanted to hear all about this album – So we’ve cut this pod cast in to two parts for your listening pleasure.

So get ya self a cup of tea or a more interesting drink, and enjoy our two part chat.

Sit back, kick off ya shoes, slip on ya slippers relax and join the journey of a brave minstrel in his search for a legendary musician who rebelled and defied the authorities by playing a forbidden song….. an album of 14 excellently written and executed tracks – with some help  from Merry Hell’s Virginia and John Kettle and a smattering of Simon Swarbrick… enjoy.
