To mark his 80th birthday on the 24th of January, veteran troubadour Michael Chapman, has announced this special concert, recorded during the November lockdown in York’s stunning Merchant Adventurers’ Hall, is to be broadcast online again during Independent Venues Week, 25-31 Jan 2021.
The recording, titled Ancient & Modern, represents a look back over his long and illustrious career, featuring classics as well as newer compositions, in addition to a support slot and interview by close friend and mentee, Katie Spencer.
‘I wanted to call it Ancient & Modern in reference to the hymn books of days gone by’, he says, ‘and because it reflects the songs I selected to play for this show’.
The concert was recorded in collaboration with York venue The Crescent, and local promoters Please Please You and Ouroboros.
Tickets are available from £5 for viewing over the entire week, with the option to pay more if you wish to do so.
Tickets are on sale from 20 January at, http://thecrescentyork.com/
