Campie and the Folkmobile are getting ready for its annual visit to Wickham Music Festival and what a fabulous place for a Festival and one helluva line up! How do they do it?!
Located on the outskirts of the beautiful ancient village of Wickham near Fareham in Hampshire Wickham Festival holds a special place in their festival goers’ hearts. A safe family festival with all the facilities including camping and showers on site.
With headliners on two main stages such as The Proclaimers, The Saw Doctors, The Dhol Foundation, Curtis Stigers, The John Jones Trio (a Wickham firm favourite after last years send off as The Oysterband Farewell), Steve Knightley is back with his Winter Yards band after last year’s success, Dervish, The Young Uns and Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman to name a few to tempt the masses! Late Night Comedy Show for those who have energy left!
The smaller stages have up and coming artists including locals to showcase and introduce their music to the crowd on separate parts of the site, together with food stalls, clothing, jewellery. outdoor wares, you name it. Well set up bars, tea and coffee stands, ice cream etc. Children are well catered for, workshops available each day.
A friendly laid back and safe festival with plenty for all. Not hard to understand why people come back to Wickham Music Festival year after year. At the time of putting this article together there were very few tickets left.
