Introducing Marc O’Reilly…

‘My Friend Marx’ is the debut album from Irish folk-blues artist Marc O’Reilly. Its release has been greeted with much acclaim in his native Ireland and received extensive national media, radio and TV exposure with Marc been strongly tipped to follow artists like James Vincent McMorrow and Villagers as Irelands international breakthrough artist of 2012.

The video for his first single, ‘My Friend Marx’, won the Best Music Video at the DareMedia Underground Short Film Festival Awards in 2011.

Marc was invited to open for John Grant on his recent Irish Tour and his song ‘Family Reunion’ was chosen by ISCA as their ‘PLAY Irish’ song for Dec’11.

Marc’s album ranges from US and UK inspired folk ‘n’ blues to African percussive rhythms. His roots may lie in Ireland and France, but Marc’s sound rests somewhere between the American-influenced folk-blues of Peter Green and contemporaries such as Ray LaMontagne. Marc is gaining a reputation as a spellbinding live performer and his musical journey has seen him play across different continents with gigs in Europe the US and Australia in 2011.

2012 will kick of with UK dates in February followed by a trip to Toronto in March for some gigs as part of Canadian Music Week.

“A remarkable debut ” Hot Press Magazine
