Singer-songwriter Hannah Brine is proud to present her new album Blue Sky Now, independently released in June 2025. While rooted in modern jazz sensibilities, Blue Sky Now is also influenced by iconic singer-songwriters spanning several decades, such as Carole King, Norah Jones, Cleo Sol and Rumer, who Hannah is supporting on tour later this year. The album is produced by renowned guitarist and band leader Jamie McCredie, one of the UK’s busiest and most versatile musicians, widely celebrated for his work with Roisin Murphy, Jools Holland, Melody Gardot, Kid Creole, and many more. McCredie also plays guitar on the project, alongside Hamish Balfour and Jamie Safir on piano, Ian King on bass, Chris Draper on drums and Freddie Gavita on trumpet, with a string section of Debs White and Dave Larkin on violin, Reiad Chibah on viola and Julia Graham on cello.

The first single from Blue Sky Now entitled ‘One Precious Life’, is a poignant reflection on losing a friend and an upbeat reminder to make the most of life. From there the album explores a range of relatable themes, enhanced by the accomplished lyricist and songwriter Michael Garvin. ‘Goodbye London’ is a bittersweet ode to the capital, ‘Little Bird’ captures the difficult subject of a fertility journey and the reality that being a mother might have flown away, while second single ‘Cobwebs And Lace’, touches on hoarding and the realisation that memories mean more than things. The depth of each track and the subjects therein are subtly yet powerfully emphasised by Hannah Brine’s velvet vocals, resulting in an emotionally stirring set of unique songs.

Speaking about the album, Hannah says:

“This album is my life’s work and I’ve been able to embrace the styles which have influenced me through my life, from listening to my mum’s Joni Mitchell records growing up, to my love of jazz and ultimately my love of songs. As a child growing up in the 90s, I always wanted to sing with Gary Barlow at a white baby grand – well I’ve performed with him on Strictly Come Dancing, and I’m sure some of his pop sensibility has rubbed off on me too. I write songs to connect to myself, and hopefully they will connect with others too. It’s been a dream to work with Jamie and the team and I hope I’ve made my Tapestry. Though it is a life’s work, I feel in some ways it’s always the beginning”

As well as developing a strong reputation for her solo work and live performances, Hannah Brine is a highly successful choir director, assembling and managing vocal ensembles for TV and recording projects such as the Americana Awards, ITV Voices and the Royal Variety Show, as well as for high-profile live events such as WOMAD and Wilderness Festivals. Moreover, Hannah’s writing and recording credits include various releases on Black Hole, Perfecto, BBC and Disney.

Blue Sky Now’s unique blend of styles and genres, overarched by distinguished vocal ability and the heart-rending concepts explored throughout the album makes Hannah Brine’s debut stand out as an enchanting body of work and a delight to experience.
