BBC Radio 2 Horizon Award nominees Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts combine relentless rhythmic guitar, driving mandolin and trademark harmonies on their new single ‘No Rest For The Wicked’. A standout track from the duo’s second album Up From The Deep (2010), ‘No Rest For The Wicked’ has been remixed by top international mix engineer Ruadhri Cushnan (Mumford & Sons, KT Tunstall, Ed Sheeran) for release in July 2011. The song documents the highs and lows of life on the road – something that Katriona and Jamie know a little about, having spent five weeks touring with folk rock pioneers Fairport Convention earlier this year, followed immediately by a three week tour in their own right. “A lot of musicians say touring is the worst part of the job – maybe I haven’t been doing it for long enough yet but right now, it’s something I love” says Katriona. Katriona and Jamie played Cambridge Folk Festival in July and Wickham and Fairport’s Cropredy Convention festival in August.
